Who I am
Hello and welcome!
My story begins with my Austrian-American upbringing, a blend of cultures that shaped who I am long before I knew how meaningful it would become. In 2015, I enlisted in the US Army, driven by the dream of pursuing an education I couldn't otherwise afford—and by the values my mother instilled in me. As an immigrant and a single mother, she raised my brother and me with a deep appreciation for European culture, discipline, and respect. Those values made military life feel surprisingly natural. In fact, so much of the military mirrors Austrian and German traditions that I felt right at home. I graduated both Basic Training and AIT at the top of my class.
Food and tradition were always central to our home. My mother taught us the importance of hard work, much like the lesson in the story of Frau Holle.
During my time in the Army, I was often the one teaching others basic life skills—from laundry to very basic cooking knowledge. Those moments turned into friendships, laughter, and weekend “cook-ups” in the barracks, where the smell of home-cooked food helped all of us feel a little closer to home. It was also where I explored new foods, learned to cook some Mexican dishes, and discovered Chinese is not always for me.
Blending the best of both cultures—Austrian and American—has given me a deep appreciation for tradition, comfort foods, and creativity in the kitchen. I've been a home baker my entire life, whisking, kneading, and learning at my mother's side. Baking is more than a hobby for me; it's my way of staying connected to my Viennese root
Before starting my business, I worked for five years in pathology as a grossing and histology technician—a field I truly loved. But after becoming a mother of two, I made the heartfelt decision to step away from laboratory medicine and embrace motherhood fully. In doing so, I found the space and time to return to a passion that has always been a part of me: creating beautiful, delicious food.
Thank you for being here! I hope to bake something for you soon.
